How it goes
Red-light mats are laid in a row across the floor with a bolster and blanket at each one. The lights come up slowly, the room stays dim around them, and palo santo burns at the far edge so the smoke never sits over anyone.
There is no instruction and no correction. A guide keeps time, dims the room, and closes the session — nothing else is asked of you for forty-five minutes.
Anyone who wants rest without being taught anything.
What to expect
- Fourteen mats, one row, warm light from underneath
- No talking after the lights come up
- A guide keeping time, not teaching
Before you come
- Wear something loose you can lie in
- Arrive ten minutes early — the door closes when the lights come up
- Eat lightly beforehand
