Sea moss is a red algae harvested wild from the cold rocky coastlines of the North Atlantic. Irish, Caribbean and West African coastal communities have used it for generations as a gentle nutritive food.
It is exceptionally mineral-dense — particularly iodine, potassium, magnesium and selenium — and contains soluble fibres that act as a prebiotic gel in the gut.
How it works in the body
The iodine content supports thyroid function; the soluble fibres feed beneficial gut bacteria; the trace mineral profile fills micronutrient gaps that vegan and plant-based diets sometimes miss.
