Methylene blue has a long pharmaceutical history dating to the 19th century. At low doses it acts as an electron donor in mitochondria, supporting ATP production via an alternative pathway.
It is photoactive and has a distinct deep blue colour — and it will turn the inside of your mouth blue.
How it works in the body
Donates electrons directly into the mitochondrial electron transport chain at complex IV, supporting ATP output and reducing reactive oxygen species under stress.
What you can expect
Mitochondrial support
Donates electrons directly to the electron transport chain.
Good for: energy · focus
